I also noticed that I have no more rapid storage technology. So I presume that's the app that wasn't supported with build Prior to the crash there was an option in my control panel to "back up and restore windows 8 " but that has changed to "back up and restore windows 7 " Coincidentally I got the free upgrade from a W7 PC.
I now have upgraded to build with about 6gb of free space. But that's not doing anything. But like I said, I have no regrets.

And that's what I did. I used my brothers PC with W7 to upgrade it on to the flash drive. Then I downloaded the W10 upgrade into my PC. I figured Microsoft would automatically pick up my embedded key built into my MB and it did so it did not ask.
But it gave me W8 Home with a W7 control panel, weird? Then I tried to install W8 Pro and it asked for a key so that install failed. Then I installed W8 using Windows 8. So that is the latest W8 prior to going back to Insider 24 hrs after installing. But I will definitely follow your instructions and give it a try asap, thank you.
